We pay homage to Juan Ramón Jiménez and celebrate the centenary of the first edition of Platero y yo, one of his most popular works. Juan Ramón Jiménez was a Spanish poet, a prolific writer who received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1956. He was born in Moguer, near Huelva, in Andalucia, on 23 December 1881. He spent part of his life in Latin America and his town, Moguer, is closely related to Christopher Columbus’ first voyage and to the discovery of America.
